Moogerfoogers

Hi
Im curious is there any difference between the foogers that have the "bob moog" signature to the ones that have the "MOOG" logo?
are they exactly the same besides that?

They are exactly the same, the only difference being the logo. The ones that say "Bob Moog" were produced when the company was called Big Briar, before Bob regained the right to use the Moog logo.

i have a 101 for a while (pre-MOOG logo) and just bought a 102. i'm sorry but they are NOT exactly the same : the pots seem to be cheaper on the new MOOG labeled pedals. the pots on the older one are much smoth and pleasant to tweak !!!!
the type and color of wood is also diferent : darker on the earlier models.

My 102 is Big Briar and my 101 and 103 a "MOOG" and all the pots have THE SAME FEEL. So this shows that the feeling of the pots doesn't have anything to do with the label on the front, but that maybe the very first few had different pots.
Also, a lighter feel to the pots does not imply poorer quality. They are both of high quality, but have different weight to them.

I've also got a BB 102 and Moog 101,3,4SD. IMO, the 102 knobs are the nicest to tweak. Couldn't tell you about any sound differences, as I don't have one of each fooger from each era!

i saw a picture of an old bb (can't remember which one)
but the LEDs were more square, less dome shaped as the new ones, but i think it was a REALLY early model.
i can't imagine the design being different

i concur that the knobs on my earlier BB 101 feel 'silkier and heftier' than those on my later MM 102...and even those feel more substantial than the ones on the CP251 that just shipped. doesn't seem to affect performance- only a perceived aura of quality. why gear with knobs that provide resistance feel of higher quality is a mystery to me, but it's maybe similar to the effect one experiences relative to how much a particular piece of gear weighs- more weight = more stuff inside and/or heavier construction = more $$?
