Triggering Werkstatt EGs using CV/Gate

I have a Werkstatt-01 with the CV Expansion board and am successfully sending a Gate and CV, but it is an on/off scenario - is there any way to trigger the Werkstatt's envelope generator using an external CV, or is there a modification required? I was hoping to not have to hack up my unit, so any suggestions would be appreciated - thanks!
