Sub37 DAW automation

Hi. This could be the stupidest question ever but I can't find any info on how to set up Sub37 inside Ableton for automation. All I could come up with until now is recording automation to clips on "MIDI Ctrl" envelopes. But when I play back the clips the Sub37 is not following the automation. Sorry for the newbie question.. I guess I missed something obvious here..thanks!

Are you using USB between computer and Sub?
Have you looked at the MIDI clip(s) envelopes to see if there are any automation? (is Live actually recording the automations into the MIDI clip?) You do have the automation recording button pressed when trying to record the automation, right?
I've done a number of MIDI clip automations in Live when connected via USB. I'm not sure if I've tried it going straight MIDI out of my interface to the Sub. My preference at this point however is to just sit at the synth and "play" the knobs rather than automate, but I know I've definitely done what you're attempting.
