Sub 37 Ring Modulation?

Is it possible to create ring modulation of the 3 oscillators using the sub37 modulation section? I tried an extremely amateur attempt this morning using mod2 to modulate VCA and mod1 modulating the freq of mod2 and it had some interesting results.

Hi radamant,

This is another of those situations where the Voyager series is still the reigning champ.

While your modulation experiments (mentioned above) will certainly provide interesting and useable effects, you won't be able to get pure ring modulation at the precision and quality you'd expect from a Voyager.

Thanks for the reply, Dan!

Out of curiosity, what are the missing elements? The ability to fully modulate the VCA on/off, the limited frequency control of the modulators, or something else?

Somewhere in this Phatty forum is an explanation from Amos re: which modulation paths are analog and which are digital.

Sorry that I couldn't find it fast enough, but it's from a few months ago.

Maybe it was in this post ... Moog Sub 37 - is it analog, digital or hybrid?
