should octave switch stay in tune?

Hello,
I am a slim phatty owner and have noticed that when I switch the octave switch (on OSC2 for example) I have to retune OSC2 freq a bit to get them back in tune (beating).
When they are both set to 16 (octave) both are in tune but as I change OSC2 octave to 8,4,2 the oscillators get further away from each other in tune and I have to turn OSC2 freq a little to the right to get them back beating.
Is this normal?
I have tried a note calibration, followed by osc 2 frew calibration, after a long warm up, but with no improvment.
