Sub 37 Tempo - what is it

I know there is requests in the firmware suggestions for a tempo display, but in the mean time...
I need to find a way to display/know what the actual tempo of the sub 37 is.
Typically in my electro project we do not sync together via midi for a variety of reasons. Instead we just set our tempos to the same and off we go looping and such with kaoss pads/electribes/drum machines etc. No computers involved. Live electro.
So as i explore and jam out with the sub, i am trying to see what the sub37 is doing tempo wise. I have tried running midi into my kaoss pad so it can tell me what the tempo is when synced up. But all i get form the kaoss is EXT - no tempo display - thanks Korg (it does sync up (sorta))
I tried running thru Logic, and found out it doesn't listen to MIDI Clock - just MTC. So i cant get logic to tell me what the tempo is as i explore the sub.
Any ideas or solutions?
I really hope an update will occur that will have the sub37 show its own tempo, about the only weak spot in it. I want it to be standalone, and not have to carry a computer around to know what it is doing...
Cheers
