...what do you think? Akai EWI MIDI Out to Kenton Pro Solo converter to LP CV in...any advantage (like smoother pitch bends, filter control, etc) as opposed to just going from the EWI Midi Out to LP Midi In?

Remember, the midi coming out of the EWI is going to be on a scale of 1-127, and I don't expect the converter to have some sort of magical effect.

FWIW, I usually use the MIDI on the LP only for notes, and control other aspects of it in real time as an audio track gets recorded, via the panel knobs and buttons. Nice and smooth.

I'm not totally sure but I drive my minibrute from my ewi by assigning mod wheel to filter and having the ewi send mod wheel instead of breath control. I think the mod wheel is a 14 bit controller with 16000 levels. Sounds smoother than 128 to my ears anyway...

Thanks! I'll test that out. No sense having analog control if it's going to be reduced to 128 steps.
