Liberation sequencer?

Hi all, I have a Liberation which I would like to use with a sequencer, i.e. be able to send sequences to the Liberation.
I know that the Lib only has a CV out, so I assume the first problem would be to convert the CV out to a CV in, correct? Anyone had experience doing that - is it possible?
Assuming that it is possible, can anyone recommend an appropriate sequencer. Would prefer something small and lightweight, and preferably not a step sequencer, as I would like to be able to play notes on the Liberation and have them come back sequenced, similar to the sequencers on a Roland SH101 or Sequential Pro one. I assume though that the lack of CV in etc will come into play again.
Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks,
OM

That sounds like more trouble that it's worth.
So you want to be able to program the sequence using the liberation keyboard and then have it run such as on an EMS Synthi AKS?

No, I want to program the sequence on the Liberation, and then have it played on the Liberation as well...

Thats exactly what I thought you were referring to.
The KS keyboard in the video above has a primitive digital memory chip in it. You'd first have to figure out a way to get the keyboard CV voltage stored, then you'd have to recall the memory, then have that digital signal control the synth via midi or turned back into a CV which the synth could then use. I'd personally lean towards Midi implementation.
Maybe the program volta will take your audio signals and allow you to get usable cv out of that, maybe it has a sequencer in it. That might be the software solution for half of your problem.
Do you have the skills and tools to handle the type of job you are proposing?

Personally no, although I use a tech who may know how to approach such a thing. It does sound rather complicated, so will have to re-consider. Thanks for the input though. OM

The ProOne does this with ease but only because the sequencer is tightly coupled with the synth/keyboard a) has a simple switched J-wire type keyboard and b) a simple piece of code which can stack up notes and not worry about gate length/duration; The LFO is used to play back and unless you have the 3rd party processor upgrade on yours (I do), you have a very small amount of notes that you can play across the two sequences; maybe it suits. Little known fact is that you can record rests (!!).
In the scenario you describe however, you would need to have your Liberation modded to accept CV and Gate in for the playback but the bigger challenge is capturing the CV pitch out. Expert Sleepers might make a module that does this which can be recorded as an encoded audio stream then played back verbatim. If you are into loops vs. a longer piece of music that you play once, Ableton would be a good pairing. There are also CV to Midi converters which I've seen in MU modular such as the Moon 552 (
http://www.lunar-experience.com/home.html); this solution will be more complex but will give you flexibility to use any standard Midi sequencer; And yes, on the way back, you will need a Midi->CV converter.
One other issue is that if you are using your Liberation standing up, you'll be sending that voltage across a possibly lengthy wire and could experience voltage drop which will affect tuning/scaling. I've had issues running Pitch across a 30' 'high quality' guitar type of cable; replace with the 2' low-cost Hosa, problem solved.
