Oscillator on/off switch

Just picked up a Voyager off eBay. Loving it so far, but have noticed one minor issue with it. While all three oscillators are working fine, the on/off switch for oscillator 2 does not seem to be working - the oscillator is always on. I can silence it by turning the volume knob all the way down, so it's not a huge issue, but I'd like to be able to switch it off with the switch. Have others encountered this?

Hey!
I had the same issue with the noise switch. It used to -sometimes- have no effect or also control osc3. I used the volume knob like you.
Eventually it wnet back to normal and works poperly now. I guess the shipping shook her a little...

Interesting. So I'll just wait and see - hopefully it'll do like yours and correct itself eventually. Thanks for posting!

You're welcome. I Wish you the same indeed
EDIT: it actually behaves as follows: sometimes, it is inactive until I switch the noise on and back off. Then it works properly.

Might be a question of a loose wire harness somewhere ? There are quite a few of them inside the Voyager...

I have always had excellent to amazing results when I've contacted Moog themselves. If it's a known issue then they know about it, and can offer the best way to go about getting it fixed (or not).
Not trying to dissuade you from posting here, just pointing you in the most helpful direction that I can think of.

Yes, I did send an email to Moog as well this morning. Just figured I'd see if other users here had experienced the same issue.

I'd love to find out what you find out. I have the exact same thing happening on my Voyager Select Series. I've had it for a year and logged maybe 10 hours on the thing...

Well, Moog said that they have seen this problem before and that I should send it in for servicing. It's still under warranty, but it seems like too much trouble, as it's not really that big a problem (I can just use the volume knob). And I guess it's possible that it will somehow self-correct in time...

If it's still under warranty, I strongly suggest following Moog Music's advice on sending it in. There might be some other things that they know about and could correct preventively... You do what you want, but I wouldn't take the risk that something else goes wrong later on, out of warranty... In electronics things rarely, if ever, correct themselves over time. Unless it's simply a bad contact somewhere, and even then it usually doesn't fix itself unless wires are moved, or parts are removed and inserted back in their sockets.

I most likely will. I've sent a message to Moog asking about it. I have installed the VX-351 CV Expander Output Adapter which I did on day two of owning it. (could have been day one, I can be an excitable type with things like this) Actually, I may disconnect the 25-pin D connector to the Voyager and see if that changes something. Though obviously this is beginning to fall into the territory of voodoo.

Got a reply from Moog. I'm going to be getting an RMA and sending it back. Flirting with getting the flashing pitch and mod wheel mod - since it's there, why not!

Same thing happened to my XL (osc 3). Took it in to my local authorised repairman and they had to replace the analog board (to the newer version), handed them a large amount of cash and went home.
Fired it up and now the mod 2 bus's amount knob dosn't work
Took it back and they now think the digital board needs replacing
Its second hand so no waranty
Still waiting to hear the news.
