New here, greetings all!
I am considering buying a 2nd hand Voyager and was wondering what are the best checks to go over in terms of finding potential faults or issues with the synth?
Are there certain things that are prone to failure that are easy to overlook?

Testing a Voyager thoroughly would take hours.

You can only test the very basics in a few minutes like: the keyboard action and are all notes triggering, are all three oscillators working on all waveforms settings and octaves, are they in tune with each other across the full range of the keyboard on all octave settings (if not it might require to be recalibrated), is the LFO working on all waveforms, the mixer, the noise, the envelopes, the two filters (using the spacing knob), a few of the modulation sources and destinations, the LCD screen, the touch pad, the mod wheels, and the headphone output.

If all these are working as they should, there's a good chance the Voyager is in good shape (electronically).

Buying any used instrument is always a gamble. Especially an electronic one. But, usually, it's a fair balance between saving money and getting a reasonably well maintained instrument.
Of course there are always horror stories, too, unfortunately. Not everyone is honest in this world.

And check that both filters are working. Dead filters have happened on a few of them..

It's worth noting that if there are no problems in a well used second hand one, it's probably going to go well forever...
