Mysterious Sound Challenge

I've got a challenge for any analog genius out there:

I have switched from a Moog Minitaur to the Moog Sub Phatty and I want to replicate a sound but can't figure it out. The only thing I have modulated live is the frequency knob from -7 to 0 back and forth.

Here is the sound clip I want to replicate from the Moog Minitaur: http://goo.gl/OhLncN
Here is a screen shot of the settings from the Minitaur: http://goo.gl/B9leiT pitch stays same despite turning freq. knob.
Here is a screen shot of my attempt on the Sub Phatty: http://goo.gl/MXr0Te but the pitch changes 7 steps.

thanks to all who dare!!

I think your mp3 file is not public.

sorry about that. This link should work: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6x3sy2mdzlrht ... 20bass.mp3

You can make it with an "envelope LFO" modulating pitch of oscillator 2 to get this effect automatically... it isn't hard to do, you'll just need to work with the envelope to get the desired effect.

HINT:
Use the envelope's delay parameter to determine the time before the pitch begins to change.
Try using a full sustain envelope to make it easier to tune the final pitch of oscillator 2.
The attack will act as the time it takes to oscillator 2 assume it's final pitch (one octave above, right?).

This is how I can help you...

Cheers!

Thanks mate for the reply. I am a beginner at all this so thanks for your patience.

Just to clarify. yes it goes up one octave. When you refer to envelopes you are referring to the filter envelopes, not the amplifier envelopes yes? When you say modulating you are using the Modulation wheel right? and the Source of modulation would be turned fully to the right to use the filter EG as source?

thanks IgorCristo!!!!!!

And how would you assign the envelope LFO to the frequency knob of OSC 2

Yes, I'm referring to the filter envelope and not the amplifier envelope.

You got it right..... turn the LFO modulation source fully right to use the filter envelope. To assign it to the oscillator 2 frequency, just use the pitch knob within the LFO section, and press the OSC2 button to control only it's pitch, and not oscillator 1.

With the Sub Phatty you can add even more balls to the sound by using the sub-oscillator.

Remember that the "delay" parameter of the filter envelope is a hidden parameter!! :)

Great great!!!! got it close enough to my satisfaction. Look forward to bustin out the mod wheel in our next band practice.

Thanks mate desde Madrid

I'm glad you've made it!

You can make it sweep in a constant rate by using a complete ADSR while letting the modwheel "full on"... it was my first idea. ;)
