unable to restore in-app purchases

Just bought a new iPad and installed Animoog - however it is not letting me restore previous in-app purchases. It won't let me buy them them again either, because the app store recognizes that I already own them, but Animoog is not letting me download them, I just get a message saying "purchase failed".
The store section of the app seems to be pretty buggy at the moment, it also crashes a lot and comes up with the "still fetching products" dialog every time I launch it.
