Do you use the VX-351 for basic sounds or just to space out?

Find myself bump into a few situations where the two mod busses isn't enough for what I'd like to do. But I want to think about it good before I buy a VX-351. I alredy spent a fair amount of cash on the Voyager incl hard case. So I wanted to ask you guys if you have use for it when making "basic" synth sounds or more when you go mad modulating. Madulation.
Now when I think about it maybe I could solve a few problems using the Pot Mapping, but I always forget about those options. Since it's buried a bit down in the menues I tend to forget about that feature. Maybe I should make use of what I've got first. Or this forgetting about it might be an indication of that it'd suit me good with a VX-351. Hmmm...

Do you mean VX-351 or CP-251? The VX is just the CV output box extension for your Voyager.
The handy part about it is that it outputs the LFO waveforms separately regardless of switch setting on panel, so if your LFO setting is a triangle and you are using it to modulate pitch in a particular patch, you can still do something with S+H or square outputs (however, the rate is constant).
Otherwise, the voltage of the Env. gens are there and then all of the CVs relating to keyboard pressure/aftertouch, etc. I'm sure you know all of this and maybe I'm writing too much because you really meant CP-251
But I do think the 351 is a MUST for any Voyager owner. The CP? If the LFO reset, if it had a clock divider, and if it had ADSRs and a VCA, that would be very very handy. Without it, it was always a pass for me but many people love them and some have two or three.

I use the vx to control my moogerfoogers more since its on the floor next to them. But it works great to add extra expression to them whether I'm running my guitar or synths through them or just playing them in their own.

I don't use mine a lot since purchasing the dotcom. Prior to that though it was integral to getting the other foogers to track the Voyager. It basically just allows the Voyager to shine as a controller for the other gear. Doing things like using the touchscreen to start sequences or to control the delay time is great. I don't think the Vx351 by itself will really do much more with the Voyager for spaced out sounds.
The CP though with the 107 is an incomplete synth voice. More of an osc/mod buss combo really. It is a valuable tool because it has like 7 modules in it and purchasing them in 5u would be much more expensive.
