using subphatty to control effects on other sounds on logic

Hi Guys, i have recently purchased a subphatty. i have it connected to logic so i can get the sounds out of subphatty (amazing by the way) and recorded on to logic using the subphatty controller. the thing is and i am not too sure if this is true but i have heard that you can use the subphatty controller (i.e the cutoff filter, osc etc etc) on pther softs synths like for example i have sylenth on logic if i put some keys down on sylenth is there a way i can use the subphatty to control this. i have tried many ways and have come to hit a brick wall hence me asking if this is actually true.
