Problem with volume automation for Moog Sub Phatty/Ableton.

Hey guys, I have a weird problem with my Moog Sub Phatty regarding Ableton. Basically I have it connected to my Fast Track Pro via front instrument jack. Then from there I have it selected for Midi from and the proper channel selected for Midi to. When I set an automation for volume rise for the pattern I made using the Sub Phatty, I can still hear the Sub Phatty pattern as though there is no automation. Also I noticed overall that the sound tends to be louder on one side then the other. Any help with this will be highly appreciated. Thanks!
