Got a promotion - Voyager here I come!

As a teacher there are few ways to move on career wise, but now the Swedish government has made it possible by paying for every school to have a teacher being responsible for the educational progress. I just foubd out that I'll be doing that next year! I'm celebrating that by ordering a Voyager Performer Edition any day now. And most likely a hardcase and a VX-351 together with it. Ok, I'll throw in an MF-104M as well! Just to please y'all.

I have very little experience playing keyboard, I mostly run my synths with sequencers and tweak my hours away. But now I want to play the bass lines on a synth as well as on my Rickenbacker. So why not do it on THE synthesizer? Have had great fun with a borrowed MS20 thru my foogers. And I can only imagine how much better it'll sound and feel with my own Voyager.

Sorry if this turned out to be a bragging thread. I'm just very excited at the moment.

Congrats MBlom!!! :)

I remember when you first said, some months ago, you'd be saving money for a year or so.
I remember last week when you doubted about the 104M.

Now this is happening :)
I'm confident you'll be in love with your new instruments in an eyeblink and wish you the best. Keep us posted, huh?!

Hmm. Well, I didn't really manage to do that. Spent the money on Fred Perry an Ben Sherman clothes. So I may look sharp, but this time I'm buying it on credit. With no interest though.

I ordered a new Voyager yesterday! I didn't have the patience to wait for a used one to show up, and since I will probably keep this instrument for many years, I might as well get a new one that hasn't been thrown around without me knowing. I was promised the lowest competative retail price on a Performer Ed a couple of weeks ago, but it had just been sold, so I was offered an Electric Blue for the same price. I was first a little dissapointed since I like the retro look of the Perf Ed, but since my new girlfriend isn't that obsessively into old 60's teak furniture, an Electric Blue will fit better into our new appartment. It is after all a piece of furniture as well, in the best of ways. So. Wednesday is gonna be play day for mr Blom! And my foogers (Huey, Dewey and Louie) are waiting for their new playmate.

Congrats MBlom!

A bit of shameless self promotion perhaps, but you should be a member of KnobTweak (if you're not already).

It's home now and I f#€£ing love this instrument! Such a nice feel to play it (I have only played a few synths before but I get what some of you was talking about, it having a really good keyboard) and what a pleasure to turn the knobs! And I'm glad I picked an Electric Blue.

Yesterday I played some RHCP basslines that I learned yeeears ago and still am very fond of. It was really fun to learn them on keys and tweak the sound.

Minimoog Voyager Electric Blue, you had me at hello!

Though I am a little bummed that I get a high pitch tone when using earphones that increases in strength (and a bit in pitch) when I turn up the backlight. I thought that was all fixed?! Mine is serial EB2154. It says on Moogs page that after serial 850 it wouldn't be an issue. Or am I missig something?

In my personal opinion, the back lighting is only for "eye candy". Moreover, it has a limited lifespan. So the less you use it, the longer it will last and the cleaner your sound will be.

I agree. For me it's mostly the looks of it. The problem is that it doesn't get quiet even when the pot is turned all the way down.

Oh, wait a minute! I used the heaphones jack for my guitar practise thingy which merges the synth with an iPod (or other). That little amp picked up the signal from the backlight. Connected my BeyerDynamic DT150 instead and it was gone. And what a sound the Voyager made in those headphones! Now everything is just fine again.
