This just makes me sick.
I knew this was going to happen. It's not unlike concert ticket scalping.
Does Moogmusic need to do backround checks on people before they buy limited items?

well believe i understand exactly what you are saying, namely because i am the one who purchased. i feel that it was a vary large sum of money but it was worth it!

Well I suppose it's fair but not right. Whoever buys them, buyes them whether they are going to use them, sell them, or put them in a glass display case to just gloat over. It's probably good for Moog to only alot dealers a couple pieces of limited edition stuff. That way someone can't buy up say a lot of 50 units out of 250 to drive up the price. That said, I just found and bought a SD unit that I decided not to keep. I listed it first here and @ gearslutz.com and am going to sell it for what I bought it for. I'm not against making a buck but really I'd rather pass it on to someone else who's looking for one and just cover what I paid.

not to get too political, but it seems like the nature of capitalism. people buy things and resell them and make money. and as far as auctioning things on ebay, it's a buyer's market since they set the prices. no one has to pay or bid and a $700 delay pedal is obviously a luxury item. it also seems like the sd was released partially as a "limited/collectors" type of item anyway and everyone knows how that type of thing works
it might be frustrating when i want to find something like the sd for the original price, but what can you do? just keep looking and eventually things pop up, like two people posted on here about sd's for sale in the last day or two and weren't selling them for profit. i didn't think i'd be able to get my hands on an sd, but got lucky. just gotta be patient and keep your eyes open.

Well I don't think it's very nice, but that's life. For example I'm a big Lovetone fan and some asshole basically controls the monopoly on ebay and jacks up prices by buying the cheaper ones off ebay and selling them for more. I do loathe those types of people, but you simply can't stop them.
Personally I may buy a Z and sell my SD when the price is right in the future, the long delays aren't as spectacular as I envisioned (though the short delay side delays are the best I've heard). Plus I'd much rather have a decent downpayment for a nice amp than (most likely) the best analog delay out.
