Tuning Issues with a Moog Prodigy

Hello everyone,

I need some help/advise regarding tuning issues with a Moog Prodigy. I bought a very early Prodigy a couple of weeks ago. Definitely an early model because it doesn't have CV/Gate on it.

I plugged a 6.5 jack from my Prodigy into a high quality tuner. When you first turn the Prodigy on, the tuner is all over the place because it's obvious that when it's cold, the tuning is unstable and takes about 5 mins for it to settle down when it warms up. I can manage to tune C D E F and possibly G perfect but from A to B the tuning is off so when I adjust the tuning for those two notes, it puts the others off again. How do I get around this?

Rachel x :)

P.S....if there are any Depeche Mode fans in here, I am going to see them in 2 days time in London. Really can't wait

It seems to me your Prodigy needs some TLC, a recap and who knows what else? Being an early unit, find a technician who knows Moogs, not the TV repairman on the street corner.

While I can't disagree that vintage gear is often ripe for new caps, her Prodigy seems more like a calibration error.
The first thing I'd try is adjusting the scaling trims, but while this is easy for those that have done this before, it can be tricky for a novice.
As suggested, a real tech would be helpful, but the operation could be performed by anyone given some patience and study.
