Little Phatty Stage II OSC2 2 hours warm up time

Hi everyone,

I know that this topic has come up a few times already, but I couldn't find any acceptable
explanation for this problem and I really need to know if there's any solution.

First of all, I might have done something wrong, but I contacted Moog Support via the online form a week ago and still haven't received any
reply other than an automatic message saying that they received my query. So I decided to ask for help here at the forum.

I bought a brand new LP Stage II a few weeks ago (from Digital Village
in London, UK). It came with the latest firmware installed. (3.12.680)

I understand that after switching on it needs some time to warm up, I
use an analog modular system so I'm used to this. Actually OSC1
settles down and gets perfectly in tune and playable after a few
minutes. But on the other hand OSC2 is always way too sharp after the
normal 15-20 mins warm up time and it takes approximately 2 hours (!)
for it to settle down and get slowly in tune (more or less) with OSC1.
I always keep Tuning mode set to Auto.

I've tried the calibration process (3 times already) exactly as it's
written down in the manual. After letting the Phatty warm up for 2
hours in a normal room temperature environment I did the 3 main
calibrations (Note, PW, OSC2) right after each other, with success.
After the calibrations the 2 oscillators are spot on, perfectly in
tune with each other. But then when I turn the LP off and back on a
bit later it takes 2 hours again for the OSC2 to get in tune with the
first oscillator. All this is in the same constant temperature room
without moving the instrument.

Of course on my modular I'm used to adjusting the frequency of the
oscillators to have them in tune with each other, but in the case of
the Little Phatty this constant need of tweaking makes using presets a
bit pointless. I would expect that Auto tuning mode takes care of both
oscillators.

So I'd really like to know if it's the normal behaviour of the intrument
or there's something wrong with my Phatty. Other than this problem
I love it to pieces I would never part with it! :)

Any opinions, advice or help is very much appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Norbert

Two hours seems a bit excessive, but it might be normal for your unit...I'd e-mail someone at Moog Music if I were you.
