LFO Rate turns solo on selected track Logic 9

Sub Phatty connected via USB to MBPr 10.8.3 running Logic 9. Latest firmware SP update 1.1.5 installed. I discovered while working in a Logic session that turning the LFO rate knob presses the solo button on active track selection in my current Logic Session. THe midi data on transport shows up as 1 3 x (x=value) when knob is rotated.1 3 x=0 solo off. 1 3 x>0 solo on.
What gives ?
