251 Control Processor with "non-standard" control

Hi...I am new to this forum and very new to analog synthesis as well....
My question concerns the 251 Control Processor with a EML 101 modular synth.
The 101 works with 1.2v/octave instead of the standard 1.0/v octave.
Can I use the 251 along with this synth ? What can I expect as far as how the 251 will interact with the 101 ? Or maybe it will not work at all and could damage one or both units ?
Any info is greatly appreciated, and the simpler the explanation the better with me. I really would like to get one of these units to help further "mangle" my 101 sound possibilities.
