need a little help with sample and hold

Hello All, I am trying to create a staircase sample and hold pattern with my Voyager os. I have a vx-351 and I have tried every mod path and patch that I can think of. I know that plugging another source to the "sample and hold in" jack on the back panel disconnect noise as the source, but the only thing to plug in there is the lfo triangle out, which is not getting me the staircase, probably because theres no way to run it at a different rate than the square wave. Is there a way to get this effect using just the Voyager (and 351) or do I need a completely independent source to plug in?

Sorry for the long (and kind of dumb) post...thanks

Easiest way is LFO rising ramp into a quantizer. Moog doesn't offer a quantizer but I think Doepfer does.

Try to sample and hold the modwheell... Indeed you will have to move the wheel yourself. Slow envelope?...

See page 35 of the manual:

The Voyager’s CV Interface jacks (on the back panel of the Voyager keyboard, or on the RME’s VX-352 CV Expander) allow additional f lexibility with the Sample and Hold circuit. For example, if a plug is inserted into the S+H Gate input, it will disconnect the LFO trigger; an external gate signal can then be used to trigger the S+H circuit. Similarly, a plug inserted into the S+H Input jack disconnects the Noise source from the S+H input. In this circumstance when the S+H circuit is triggered, the voltage at the tip of the plug is held at the output of the S+H circuit. This makes it possible to get “staircase” modulation patterns. as shown below
