Hello,

Im having trouble setting up my midi keyboard to my minitaur i have set it up as per the Manuel, all midi channels are set correctly. For some reason the minitaur doesn't receive the midi signal? I own a Moog little phatty i have connected that the same as i did as the midi keyboard and the minitaur recieves a midi signal and puts out sound.

Only thing i haven,t tried is plugging in the dc power input for the midi rather then running the usb for the midi keyboard power whether this will make a difference i am unsure as i dont have a dc 9 power source at the moment. Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Can you be a bit more specific how you're connecting the keyboard to the Minitaur?

Unless you have a computer, iOS device, or something like an iConnect MIDI in the loop, you need to connect from the keyboard to the Minitaur using the MIDI DIN connection. The keyboard needs a source of power - the MIDI DIN connector doesn't provide it.

Hello Thanks for the reply. Yes the keyboard is connected via midi cable to the minitaur. The minitaur is not receiving any signal. The light doesn't light up as keys are played. I connect up the phatty exactly the same way and the minitaur receives the signal and is able to play sound. I am using a tascam 144 audio interface and from there you have your audio jacks etc.

Have you hooked the Minitaur up to a computer and tried connecting via USB?
You could try connecting to the Editor and see if you can do a factory reset.

If that doesn't work for you, you might need to do a firmware update.
Might be worth a tech support e-mail request to Moog...

Yes I have connected it via USB and have opened the editor and it works. I will try and find an update or do a reset and see how I go. I have been in touch with moog tech support but has taken them up to a week to reply at times. I cam only think that it's because the midi keyboard is powered via USB and not a dc power supply. Whether this would make a difference I am yet to try as I need to go and purchase a power source for the midi.

Like I said it works fine connected the same way I have been using a moog phatty and minitaur just not through the midi keyboard.

Sounds like your midi keyboard is not working or is not sending a signal.

I had same issue trying to use my Maschine as a midi controller with minitaur.

I had to open the maschine software on my laptop and create a midi instrument in that gui to send to channel 1 on midi.



what keyboard you using

I've had a real "picky about midi" Minitaur. One setup will work one day, and not the next. ONe midi cable will work with one controller and a little phatty, but not the minitaur. So, maybe try swapping out the midi cable?
