Hi there. I downloaded your timbre/preset pack, but some of the presets don't work properly as some of your timbres are "missing", according to Animoog.

If you've already installed the timbres included successfully, you probably haven't purchased the expansion packs for Animoog, it looks like a lot of the presets are based on those timbres as well. From his download:

*Please note that in order for most of these Presets to function correctly, you will need to install our Timbres and most likely the additional content that came with Animoog expansion packs through the Animoog store.

Thanks a lot!

FYI, the installation page looks empty (at least on Chrome and Firefox).

I wanted to look at it because I don't know how to install the timbres. The presets, I'm fine with that, but for the timbres? We have to install them too? Using the i-FunBox as described here? http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2012/ ... -required/

What about Flattr or Paypal to send you a small thank you? :)

Yeah, it looks like his site may be down, I'm getting a database error trying to bring it up this morning...

Yup, you have to install the timbres seperate using i-funbox. I tried to follow their instructions, but they did not work correctly for me, maybe a new version of i-funbox or an old install of animoog?

Regardless, for me, I had to run i-funbox, click on Funbox Classic, User applications, Animoog. Then expand out Library\Caches\samples. In the samples directory, hit Copy From PC, then copy the timbres files in. This is the method that worked for me in Animoog. If you want to use all his patches, you'll have to buy the official expansions from moog through the animoog store as well, but he has quite a few patches that can be used without them.

Thanks for the feedback! It seems to work or almost fully work. The timbres are there, but for many of them, there's a [missing] appearing right after the name in the Timbres list. Do the presets sound like they are supposed to sound? I think so, but can't say for certain of course.

I guess Moog will have to eventually provide an official way to install user-provided timbres :-). Cheers -- Alex

So after copying over his timbres, you still have [missing] next to them? Did you purchase the moog DLC addon packs? There were 2, and it looks like he used a lot of them in his presets. If you post the name of the missing ones, I can confirm, but that's probably your problem. I didn't buy the moog ones yet either. Some of his patches work great with his own timbres, some of them rely a lot on the moog ones and basically don't work/only have limited sound.

TL:DR You get a few extras presets, but not all without the DLC.

DLC? That's Grateful Dead? Then yes. I have purchased all official presets from Moog, installed the timbres using i-funbox, and still see the [missing] for some of those timbres.

This forum refuses my 60kb screenshot which basically showed some (but not all) missing timbres for the "JC_Saw Chimes" preset.

Cheers -- Alex :-)

For timbres alone, I believe it's The grateful dead, The Acoustic Expansion Pack, The Metallic Expansion pack. Looks like in the JC_Saw Chimes it uses:

AC-Vowels8va (Acoustic pack)
DescendingOdd2
GDCrocodiles (Grateful Dead)
GDDSSnare (Grateful Dead)
GDCymbalHMXupper (Grateful Dead)
Digital Resonator
GDCrashGtr(Grateful Dead)
AC-Water Bubble (Acoustic Pack)

Which one is missing?

Thanks for the reply fearsells :)

Strangely, I can't replicate. I just found out that this isn't limited to JC_* timbres but to other timbres as well. Apparently, after some Animoog use, they disappear from my dear Animoog (and show up as [missing] in the list of timbres)! The solution (for the 3 times it happened to me) was simply to hard-close (not just he home button, but really closing the app) and re-open and then tadam, everything goes back to normal. This bug would not related to free space on my iPad, there's plenty of that.

When I'm looking at that JC_Saw_Chimes and other previously missing timbres this morning, well, they're all currently there. So false alarm. I seem to be affected by an Animoog bug - but since I now know the solution to it..

Thanks fearsells & take care -- Alex :)

Cool Alex, I was actually noticing some strange stuff in my animoog as well, I have had it since release and hadn't reloaded it. They've changed the file structure in the app and some other things since then. I actually ended up backing up my presets, deleting animoog entirely, and re-downloading it. It seems to have behaved itself much better since then.
