I was waiting for this; and when I say that I mean that I was waiting for Nick Batt to get to NAMM and get this exclusive with Moog and with Amos for an extended walk through.

So per Amos' request, I'm listing an idea for the sub phatty.
find a way to turn the 4X4 memory buttons into a 8 step sequencer! im no code writing wiz but if its possible that would be amazing
also an arpegiator would be greatly apreciated (or perhaps a programmable arp instead of the 8 step sequencer)

I second the idea of using the bank/patch buttons as a seq. note entry SH-101 style.

Coll preview. I wish they'd made the overdrive go to 11 rather than 12 though - or maybe they're one more than even Nigel Tufnel.

After having watched the video, I'm glad to see things like linear detuning, re-trigger sync on oscillators, FET overdrive circuits (multidrive), 3 ranges for LFO speed, keyboard tracking for LFO speed, selectable filter poles, and all kinds of goodies like that.

I think that the Sub Phatty will shine in all the "under the hood" features like that.

Oh, and nice to see a technical, passionate guy like Amos talk about it. :D

P.S. if Amos is, like he says, reading this thread, I second the sequencer idea using the patch buttons, if at all possible...

Can the OS be upgraded to include Wood Sides? (In my view thats all it needs)

I was alreading thinking about how a Sub Phatty could fit into my set-up, and that video answered all my questions. I think I'll wait until I can "feel the keys" when they're in stores, but I'll prolly snap one up then. And yeah, an 8 step sequencer would be the icing, if it were possible.

The OS ?

Don't you mean the new SBP ? (to differentiate from the Slim Phatty's initials SP)

'Cause I don't think a wood side upgrade is possible with an update of the Operating System...
And the Old School already has a wood casing...

Changing the operating system should give it wood sides, it can do almost everything else.. XD
The phatty I no longer own had aftermarket wood sides (black walnut by the look of it) I just think that all Moogs should be that way...

I agree that wood sides always gives a vintage, quality look to a keyboard. Even the fake ones on my Korg Mono/Poly.

Very good video & presentation, Amos!

Sweetwater says my Sub Phatty should be in the first batch that ships in March!! :D 8)

(Yeah, OK, I know, everyone has probably been told that... :P )

+1 on the arp / sequencer ideas...

@Stuka

Yeah, don't forget why it's called NAMM 2013: Not Available. March Maybe ?...
Hope it's not true for the Sub Phatty though.

First of all, THANK YOU AMOS for talking so good of what you guys made. Your technical/musical insights are valuable and the passion animating you is a gift. I mean that :)

About the Sub Phatty, I was just a bit afraid tht the under the hood features would be... too deep under the hood -I don'tt have any Minitaur. But really, you can do so much just with keys combinations on the synth itself: great.

And the dual overdrive design seems to make this little boy speaking many languages! Very attractive instrument. I'm sure it will be a success, bravo!!
