Hi all!
I have noticed that my slim phatty has the output very low. With the output knob in the middle position, i got about -22 db on cubase playing the calibration patch. With a little phatty i got -6 db with the same settings.....is this normal?

Not sure if this is related but I noticed my LP outputs no signal with the volume at 9 o'clock or below.
BTW, there is an option in a global menu which allows to increment the volume. Maybe you have different values in your phatties.

I did this two samples, recording the Calibration patch with volume knob at middle position and at maximum value. I got on cubase meter:
volume knob middle position: -20 db
volume knob maximum value: -10 db
Headphones volume is very louder, about 10 db louder than output volume.
Here are the samples:

Do you think i need to send the slim phatty to repair?

I have never found my slim phatty to have a particularly hot output. I have to turn up the gain on my audio interface, followed by a gain increase on my DAW to have an acceptable output. This is my only hardware synth, therefore I have nothing to compare it too, so I just live with it. The only problem is causes, is due to the increases in gain, I do get some noise, but I can gate this (would rather not).
Edit: I just turned my gain down to zero on my interface, and also no gain through my DAW (Ableton Live) and I am getting -21.12 db, so similar readings to yourself.
Hope this helps.

Hmmm, could that be why other forum users weren't responding? ~ my slim is plenty hot! I don't have a Little Phatty to compare it to though ~ or Cubase.
Mostly I run it direct into an RME Fireface recording in Logic but I have also used it thru a Traynor K5 amp live. Related issue for me while recording might be line noise ~ originally, I used a 'deNoiser' plug-in, but have found a better solution since then ~ a power conditioner & a balanced cable.
