After a long time of watching, listening, reading, and saving.. I finally broke down. I bought an Electric Blue Voyager about 10 minutes ago. I can't wait to get it. I'm a jazz sax player, but I've dabbled in synths since I was a boy. I've recently been doing some production of hiphop and acid jazz, and just finally couldn't take it any more. Anyways, I look forward to many conversations and posts on this site.

Congrats on the Voyager, Jeremy and welcome to the club!
There's nothing quite like the anticipation of the arrival of a new synth -- esp. a Voyager.

i ordered an rme last week and can't wait for it to get here. after about a year of reading and watching i too finally broke down. some folks i know tried to talk me out of it and steer me towards some other synths with similar functionality but i had to go with my heart and my head on this one - the moog is the way to go and i'm sure this thing won't let me down! now, if it could just get here!

Good choice! Out of curiosity, what synths did they try to steer you toward?

synths some friends and i discussed before i decided on the moog:
Radikal Spectralis http://www.radikaltechnologies.com/
Cwejman S2 http://www.cwejman.com/english/index_eng.asp?mode=s2
Korg MS2000 http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?a_pro ... egory_id=1
AnalogueSolutions Red Square and the Black Coffee http://www.analoguesolutions.com/
Studio Electronics SE1x http://www.studioelectronics.com/products_se1x.php
clearly some of these are more closely applicable to a moog comparison but these all came up in discussions surrounding my latest synth purchase.
i'm still pretty interested in the
Cwejman - anybody have experience with this stuff?
we also talked about some bigger systems that i wasn't really interested in at the moment like the
Macbeth M5, the
Buchla 200e systems, the
SE Omega, and the
Modcan stuff - all are very cool, though.
oh, and this came up but not in any serious talk because it's too damn expensive! the
ems synthi 100 - that thing is like $66,000+ USD! ouch!

I think that the Cwejman looks cool, but if the Voyager has taught me anything it is how awesome patch memory is! Patch memory is very important to me.
