Hi
Is there Anybody here playing on the Prodigy. What do you think about this synth ?
Mine was an Early version with light wood and only output jack at the rear.
Mine was tweaked a little .

I love mine, would never get rid of it. The same model as yours with the light maple cabinet. Had it since I was 16 !

The Prodigy was my very first real synth.
Great rich sounding.
Not good for FX sounds.
The filter is also distorting (this is a plus!) as the Minimoog. But not as much as the Moog Rogue. The Prodigy was meant to be the poor man's Minimoog. And it is way better in doing so then most other non-Moog attempts.
And the oscillator sync is a great thing. It is not featured on the Minimoog.
The sound ranges from big bass to leads. But no good FX sounds.

I have a Prodigy, which I love. ESP the Osc Sync.
I've been having major tuning issues with it.
I took the plunge & bought myself a voyager, it arrives next week. I assumed there would be osc sync on there...bugger.

I see the voyager has a 1-2 sync switch, phew!
note to self - check your fav feature before spending £2,000

I have also an old version (only with line out socket). I think you can make some very typical moog sounds with the prodigy. I love these typical moog filter sounds using only one oscillator or using the osc.-sync. A little bit reverb and it sounds great!

BTW
Moog will release at the end of the year A cheaper Synthesizer.
( maybe king of Prodigy 2 )
1500 pounds sterling for a Voyager in Europe is too much for most people.
Great News !!!!

Anyone looking for a cheaper synth should check out this.
SRS Aurora
Built by Adrian at Synth Restore Services UK for £499 and is said to sound very good. Hand built to order, takes about 2 weeks to build and can be customized to the clients liking.

It looks like there's no mixer for the oscillators on that thing.
