Voyager Not Responding to PC Editor?

Hi there,

I just got the PC Editor yesterday. I can get the Voyager to trigger a note using the editor's built-in keyboard, but when I change a parameter (filter cutoff, for example), it doesn't change on the voyager.

I tried everything I could think of... plus the manual is very slim and wasn't of much help. I think there may be some weird voyager parameter that I don't have enabled. Is there one for enabling Sysex on the Voyager? I didn't see one... but could have missed it I suppose.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have!

Take care,
Darin aka Birdrunner

Are you using OS 2.5 on your Voyager?
This is needed for using the editor.

Thanks, Qwave!

Yep, just loaded 2.5 before installing the editor.

I have an email out to Soundtower support... will see what they say.

Take care,

Bird -

Some thoughts:

What happens when you turn a knob on the Voyager? Does the corresponding Editor parameter change?

Have you verified that you have proper MIDI communications to/from your PC?

Checking your Voyager and make sure that Master Function 3.4 (SysEx Device ID) is set to 1

Thanks, GregAE.

I checked the SysEx Device ID and confirmed that it's set at 1. It's really weird, I can play a note on the Voyager from the lil editor keyboard, and successfully receive the bank from the Voyager.... but I can edit any of the parameters using the software. When I move a software slider, nothing changes on the Voyager. The users manual is soooo brief that it's of no help.

The midi seems okay, from what I can tell. I'm using a Midex 3 interface, which works fine with the Evolver Editor I have (I believe both were made from the same company).

Very weird...

You are correct - SoundTower is the vendor that created the software.

Given that the Evo editor works and the Voyager editor doesn't, that sounds like a configuration issue. Have you tried comparing the setups of the two programs?

If still no luck, email Marc at ST. I'm sure he can help you sort things out.

Hi; I had a similar problem a while ago.
Have you switched "sysex enabled" under "receive presets" in the master section?
