Hello all

I hope this isn't inappropriate here...

I am seeking the following parts to help finish off a Polymoog
Keyboard 280a restoration.

- Pitch controller ribbon. Mine has been bent or folded at some point
(WTF?!) and no longer responds properly.

- Grey slider caps with blue metallic inserts. I think these are the
same as on the Rogue. I can get new black 'n' silver versions from
chipforbrains but I'd much rather the original colour. Must be
reasonable looking i.e. not badly yellowed. 9 needed.

- There's a sizeable chunk out of the panel housing the pre and var
switches, and the preset panel surround is a bit the worse for wear
too. So, long shot this but any leads on a new panel in decent
condition?

If anyone is breaking a Poly or knows of any of the above I'm keen to
hear from you. PM me please.

I can help on the ribbon controller and have some extra polymoog top and bottom covers, but nothing on the slider caps. I'm looking for some myself.

Also not to pass judgement, but have you much Polymoog experience?
Restoration is an often misused term in my opinion.
No slam, of course, but I just finished a Polymoog for Devo.
It had been to 3 or 4 other "professional techs."
They didn't know what the unit was supposed to have inside, what it was supposed to sound like, didn't have the right parts, etc, etc.
They took months and charged to mess up a synth even worse.

I ended up resoldering over 4000 connections and installed many, many new parts.
Total was close to $2000, easily the highest price I've ever charged for a non-modular. So, if you know Polymoogs inside and out, I wish you the very best of luck. But if you've never cracked one before, I wish there was something I could say to indicate how crazy they can be. Most of the problems and cures are *not* shown in the schemos.

If you don't get a taker for those slider caps, I could use 'em if in very good condition. Then again, maybe I sold that panel to you. Who knows?

Oi! I asked first! (kidding!)

I take it this is the panel on Ebay, in which case it's for a 203 not a 280. Also appears not to have slider caps, or am I wrong? Guess they'd be the wrong colour for mine anyway.
