Well for starters, I don't have any VCA's, until I get these built

I ordered some wrong parts, waiting for the new ones

At first I thought you meant the sound of the Sirin filter sounded darker!

I put together this track as a test of the ZVEX Mastotron fuzz - most fuzzes don't work with active electronics (guitar/bass) or line level signals, but the Mastotron seems to do a good job. Clean Sirin (well, MF-104 delay on it) first, then "good" sounding fuzz, clean, then more impedence-mis-matched fuzz.

I've also been diving under the hood of the Sirin a bit - discovered the sample-and-hold! Don't need to use my CP-251 for that.

Improvisation with Alembic Bass + Moog Phaser (Big Briar MF-103)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vczyJReGAgM

Got kind of scared when the moogerfooger didn't appear to be working - signal was passing but no change to the sound - once I flicked the rocker switches it came on! Whew!

Had the sweep set fairly high - I don't like it when the LFO dips into the deeper bass frequencies - the Alembic puts out some nice highs which I had boosted somewhat with my Boss bass parametric EQ, plus I put a hi-pass filter on the bass at around 100 HZ - this is more like a solo that doesn't need super-sub-bass.

Gadz! It's been almost 40 years ago Dan and I started marketing sequence data to lounge bands - we were the first to advertise in Electronic Musician and Keyboard magazine in fact. Here is a promo piece we put together to showcase the potential of sequencing synthesizers. For those who care - the head is counted 8-7-7-7-8-7-7-7-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.

Hey synth compadres,
I started building a semi-modular system a short time before the pandemic. I now have a small set-up that I am feel I am scratching the surface on. About a year ago I started a channel/playlist on my Youtube channel called "Monday Mornin' Moogin' where I share my evolution as a semi-modular player. On this channel I write, perform live, and share share these compositions. Not every Monday mornin' but about once a month or so. I'd love to hear feedback and meet others composing this way too.

Here is the link to the channel and playlist if you are interested in connecting on YouTube, subscribe and we can connect and I can subscribe to your channel.

Here my Spotify too, I used these synths extensively on the album "The Power" too.

Thanks for reading I look forward to meeting you. happy synth creation forever to you,

Whoa this is so good! Just love the middle section at 2 1/2 minutes or so where you break it down and take it to another universe.

I really enjoyed these. Have you ever done any music for film? I can see this fitting really well with some experimental stuff. Awesome, rich, beautiful textures.

Moog Synthesizer Quartet

I've always wanted to record an entire song with my Moog synthesizers and today was the day. Woke up early to setup the Mother-32, Subharmonicon, and DFAM when the light was just coming through my windows. Now that's it's winter there's only a few hours of the day where I get enough light to film. Once I got those recorded I brought in the Grandmother to complete the sound, couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

I've been enjoying working with the DFAM & Subharmonicon - finally coming up with stuff that I can play bass along with - here is a sketch that I may develop further, but wanted to share for now:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2Fu1iue3lU

The Subharmonicon is going through my Big Briar MF-103 phaser & Budda Phatman overdrive, then into one channel of blueSky reverb, the DFAM is going through the other channel. The bass is an 8-string Rickenbacker with a Japanese analog chorus (Vizion Lucifer) and overdrive.
