Moog manafesto

Through a bit of a windfall, I had the opportunity to purchase a good deal of Moog "fear no voltage out of control" gear.
So far I've received a Theremin plus with CV out's a MF-104M -Up up and away silky smooth delay a M-105M-"murf to planet earth" mod filter a MF105 "clangy thangy", moon shot modulator, and lastly a MF-107 FreqBox with and obvious personality disorder, dat order "Your all out of order!"
I also have a on hand a new Minitaur to lay down the bass like a &art in your face whilst saying grace synth.
The point of this rant "wew pant pant let me catch my breath here",
The point to me is they all seem to have a bit of actual personality, and through them I can somehow express myself all soggy imperfect and analogy.
Expressing the self through something, as a less than perfect and happy to be humane being.
That to me is the definition of a musical instrument.
I've been comparing this Moog windfall to my arsenal of do all digital damnation machine's with massive amount's of poly phony and option's piled inside option's on blurry eye'd cryptic screens that seem to waste time and inspiration in the killing of day dreams. All those boxes in boxes of option just sort of wear you out sometime's don't they?
In this Comparing
The question I'm asking myselve's is can you hear electricity running through circuitry un excessively restrained digitally, doe's analog have a sound unbound?
I think I can, no matter what the, wiz bang for the buck, highly impacted plastic fantastik salesmen keep telling me.
I a legitimate musical instrument is in need of all that much computer correction and restraint and options in options that imitate.
I think Mr. Moog created musical instrument's out of electricity because he could hear it's inherent musicality running through his magical circuitry.
In doing so he created a new musical frontier along with and innovating industry.
Then unfortunately some giant factory's created a bunch of machine's in cheap digital mimickery.
I've got a lot of these machine's of mimickery, just laying there, about and a of Late I've been comparing.
In comparing I would have to say this digital stuff is not really at the level of my new "fear no voltage gear"
It sort of put's out a kind of chickeny peep peep with timid bleep now and then something that say's "let's pretend".
Suspension of disbelief it is called if I remember correctly
"just as good as a Moog dude"
Yes I remember that dude at the dawn of the do all digital age / dream sequence fade
"Woo that's in your face"
It was very similar to some one throwing dry sterile tone sand in my face and telling me that if it is thrown at sufficient rate it shall sound exactly the same as a cool summer breeze, that's what the salesmen told me.
"impossible to hear completely digitally clear don't be silly"
That is what they told me when I bought that korg M1, even though it just sounded harsh to me but man did it have a lot of wiz bang for the buck. blah blah blah the speal went on and on
"Blast kiss my @ss through the mix like a major show boat #ick"
Yes I bought this "be somebody" speal hook line and sinker I'm afraid
Six month's later I sold that brash digital thing.
I never could form and attachment to it it seemed, as to me it was a very obnoxious, pretentious beast a loud and abrasive one up pretender. Are you making music? are you making noise? somewhere inside must have spoken and irritated little voice.
To each there own
I guess harsh get's your attention that is true but I'm gett'n older
and these day's I am more into the Smooth nothing to prove evolving soundscape's in which to get lost.
I'm more of a tinkerer than musician I must admit but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the musicality
of a brilliant instrumental design as compared to impersonal machine's.
I got plenty of the digital do all damnation lie'n around, all that wiz bang for the buck dry sterile sound.
I've bought many of them over the years and in general they just seem to "lye their" who cares nope not allot of fun.
Yup my wiz bang for the buck could over fill a garbage truck.
One even has a 128 voice's of poly 'wana cracker" phony and robotic fader's that zoom up and down like "Wow".
Just imagine the possibility's of dry do all digital musician free society, music machine's that can do everything
Yes funky smelly humane free and digital clean.
Ugg
brain wash, tone squash, rinse repeat to the beat digitally spotless, damnation machine's, that keep you're music? crystal clean and completely free of filthy personality and all those nasty imperfection's that define musicality.
Listening to all this Smoooth Moog sort'a put's me in a digital dumpster bait mood.
The scroll and scroll of kill that Soul and the Drop down menu blue's?
This as well I spose shall pass
"pant pant" man that was one hell of a rant
Hmmm sound's a bit Kaczynski don't it.
Truthfully I like digital stuff just fine but you in my humble opinion need's some soogy-stanky-anology to have a really good musical time.
Thank's Moog this stuff is fun and then some to use and I don't feel like it's using me so much as all this brain dead digital stuff.
I've got a ,cross my finger's, Moog Voyager XL on the Way as well to break this digital zombie spell.
Weeeeee Creativity electricity running free
