Hi!

I am a master design student at the Institue of Design in Umeå, Sweden. I´m doing a brand identity project and have chosen Moog as my study object.

According to the people in the forum - What would you say is the essence of the moog brand?

Obviously the sound, plus the aesthetics - how many synths feature wooden cabinets, these days?

Moog sound is obviously the biggest plus. But the history of Moog is quite interesting too.

Robert Moog brought out the "first" production PORTABLE Synthesizer back in the "early" days, and at the time it was really a major introduction, once people figured out what it was. Instruments were totally different back in those days and I remember reading that music buyers were walking by the Moog booth at the first show they did and couldn't figure out what Moog was all about.

I'm happy that there IS a Moog Music again. The build quality of the Voyager, the up to date features, and that classic Moog sound is a pretty nice package for any one instrument. It's awful pretty too.
