Hi All,
Can someone tell me how this is connected? Im thinking about picking up the ring mod, but am wondering what cabling I need to pull this off. Also not sure what input and output chain is.

Take a look at my 'Lord Of the RingMod' article on KnobTweak. It explains everything you need to know about the RM:

A good understanding of the LFO is essential.
Also, you should read a thread on bells/chimes sounds too. Really good use of the mf102 there.

No, all you need is 1 1/4 inch jack from the MIX OUT output of the ringmod to the FILTER IN of the voyager to do that. Im pretty surethe voyager is also having the main out beinng fed into the ringmod as well before going to the amp.

That'll work!
Keep in mind that the Voyager's Mix Out/Filter In jack is a TRS (Tip - Ring - Sleeve) type that places the Voyager's Mixer Output signal on the Tip ("SEND") and the Filter Input on the Ring ("RETURN").
Personal experience has shown that it's easy to confuse the SEND and RETURN connections on an insert cable, so you might want to label them (mine are marked "FROM VOYAGER" and "TO VOYAGER" - this way there's no confusion). Note also that if you get the SEND and RETURN jacks backwards, no damage will result, but you won't get any sound either. Consider this the first place to check if, after getting things hooked up, you get no sound.
Hope this helps -
Greg

Is there another location for this article? I hate Yahoo groups, and I'm sick of whenever someone asks about the ring mod, the first reply is "go read that knob tweaks article"...
grumble grumble..

I am trying to figure out how to use the LFO on my MF 102 to do things with my voyager
I have the "lord of the ring mod" PDF, but everything in there uses the VX 351 which I do not have
Can I not just use the ( LFO -->edited ) oscillator out of the MF 102 to affect the voyager?
I am not getting anything when I plug ( LFO -->edited ) OSC out of MF 102 into the voyager control inputs
thanks!

If you want the MF LFO to affect the Voyager, you have to connect the LFO OUTput of the MF to any CV input on the Voyager. There is no audio in here, just CV.
OSC out on the MF is for sending the signal of the oscillator that multiplies the input. It is not the LFO but a VCO - audible frequencies. You should have it to affect any Voyager parameter, but it won't sound the same

thanks!!
sorry my terminology is wrong in my original post....I am plugged into the LFO out on the MF102, not the OSC out ( there is no "OSC out" on it )
actually I think I may be using the wrong type of cable, they are just standard patch cords

Should work. What is the input you plugged the cord in?

YES!
that was it...I just picked up some stereo 1/4" cables and it works!
only problem is, I cannot turn it off with the footswitch on the MF 102....is this normal?
I just ran LFO out from MF102 into the red CV inputs on the voyager: filter, wav, pitch, all were affected
I probably need to set something up for mod1, mod2, pan etc
thanks guys!

The footswitch will send either the bypassed audio or the effected audio, depending on the position of the switch. CV is sent regardless of the status of the footswitch. You can run the CV through a CC pedal which will attenuate it fully.
