What is the fix for the Volume control?

There is a crackling sound when the knob is at or goes past the 5 position. It is only a minor problem though. I wouldn't send it to Moog, but is it anything that someone good with a soldering iron could fix?

That has been a known issue from the Signature editions. It was fixed but early units need some parts replaced. AFAIK the details have not been made public, but if your unit is under warranty it will be fixed. Maybe your UK distributor can do the work. Call Moog Music.

Aye, mine is #296. Its strange because I checked for the problem in the past, but didn't notice anything, until now.

there is a fix for this, search the forum. i didnt have to pay for mine. another flaw on some early #s is a drop in master tune with increasing pitch bend range, check if you have this before service.

I don't think mine has that, thank god.

I always felt good about the fact that my SE (#86) didn't suffer from these hardware issues.
In the early days (2001-2002) when RL Music was selling Voyager SE's . . they had a number of units with problems but mine, bought directly from moog was fine . . until about 5 months ago, when the volume5 crackle appeared, and now after the OS2.5 upgrade I have the pitch wheel problem . . even after tweaking the pot under the left side performance panel (which in my situation is at -8 to get the pitch working correctly!).
Still . . if you don't put the volume at 5 then everything is fine and my playing style only uses a semitone of bend (normally from pitched down to correct pitch) so none of these issues really effects me.

Thats why I want to upgrade to 2.5, to see if this problem becomes apparent.
