Errors updating firmware

Yesterday I tried to update the firmware on my Little Phatty II.
I upgraded the USB and after I started the sequence of operation to update the firmware (I followed the “LP_v2-v3_Update_Instructions_WIN.rtf”.
When I sent the firmware to the LP at the STAGE 3, it stopped with a data ERROR.
When I reboot the LP it asked to send the firmware and I sent the firmware with the phattyloader.
It charged the firmware but it is not correct, it doesn’t work good anymore.

On the menu SYSTEM UTILITIES I do not have anymore the FIRMWARE UPDATE option.
The only options are

SYSTEM UTILITIES VERS.: 3.1 672/32
HP VOL
MENU WRAP
MASTER REBOOT
RESTORE FACTORY
CALIBRATION

Then I’m not more able to do again the procedure of the firmware update.
Now I could only send the firmware using the procedure of a LP without USB, then:
Reboot the LP with the MASTER button pressed, and so on...

All the PRESETS on the LP have names like:

01 t GhPp çL$
02 §&# 1t&j§Sp
03 P&6#Jo6&M@@GS

Please, someone could help me?
I’m really sad for this inconvenient.

If you followed the instructions, I'm not sure what happened. I think you should contact Moog, and get an expert opinion as to what your next step should be. You may need to flash the ROM or something. :?

Just to let you know I solved the problem.
I send my LP to the distributor in Italy and they update the new firmware. I spend 100 € for the service. Be aware when you update your firmware, you need a stable pc without processes running.

Sorry to learn that you had to spend money to have the upgrade done elsewhere.

But at least it's ok now. :D

And a "stable PC" is a contradiction in terms. That's why I switched to a Mac. But still, everytime I update some firmware in some device, I always cross my fingers that nothing in the world will interfere!

This will be the last firmware update I'll do in my LP...

a stable pc without processes running
 I'll give you all my analog set-up if you could ever make a computer works without processes running. That's total non-sense. No offense but...really, i'm sorry if you paid 100€ for such a comment which is total crap. Anyway, glad you got a fix for the original problem, you don't seems very lucky with this unit :(

Of course there will always be background processes running on any computer...

I'm assuming and understood like probably all of us, except you maybe, that they meant "a stable PC without possibly interferring with USB data flow transfer, processes (programs) running. Or other processes (programs) that could hang the computer during the firmware update procedure."

In other words, just to make sure you get the point, not to watch YouTube videos, send and receive emails, download films, and chat on Skype with a webcam, all at once on a 10 years old PC while performing the upgrade!

Stable PC in and of itself is an oxymoron. I remember my Win95 machine crashing during scene changes in Baldur's Gate, which was made for Win95.

I'm a Mac, and never had any problems with upgrading my firmware. :)

I've left the PC world about a year ago and never looked back. My little Mac Mini Aluminum works wonders, is completely silent (no more constant hair dryer type fan noises and HD whining) and hasn't crashed once. My Win XP PC would crash at least once every two days.

I bought a 13" Macbook three years ago, and am looking to upgrade to the latest model when I get my tax refund check.
