curious as to how many have had problems with their Voyagers (not operator errors, or damage inflicted from misuse)

Biggest problem I have with my EB is lack of talent as a keyboard player.
My EB is one of the first ones and hasn't had any problems since Day 1. Did the v3.x hardware/firmware upgrade myself a few years ago without any hitches.
Only hardware "issue" I've ever had with any Moog product is the well-known 104SD component shorting to the case. Fixed with a business card insulator.

do you have a poly instrument as well? in my opinion, if you work on your keyboard chops on a poly instrument, going mono is a piece of cake- your free hand, left or right, can then turn into the knob tweaker!

Hey,
Have small problem with my voyager rme, that it takes about an hour to warm up. Not really problematic, as I just turn it on before, so I know it will be warm enough.

Of course. But how many will see this poll ? It would help to have it made into a "sticky" by the moderators. But this being the forum of the manufacturer of such a product, I doubt they would want members/visitors to know about the number of defective/problem prone units encountered so far...
Then again, maybe not? You could possibly contact the moderator on it? Just a thought...

Mine has the aftertouch issue because it is an early machine. It really isn't a problem as they were built this way at the time. Other than having to tighten the shaft nuts, no other service has been required.

No hardware or serious software problems ever.
I installed the version 3 hardware upgrade on my Voyager myself without a problem.
And if you judge a synth, you have to judge it by the number of electronic components.
And there are way more inside the Voyager, then in half a dozen of DSP driven synths.

Yes indeed, that analog board alone has over 800 discrete components and 22 trimpots! Talk about a calibration nightmare for techs...
I know there are a lot of quad analog switches (CD4066) on that board, and this chip has a relatively high rate of failure history. But then again, chip fab processes have improved a lot over the years, and electromigration isn't much of a problem today unless old stock are used.

My biggest issues have been with the editor/librarian... Piece of crap unusable software. Still cant believe Moog uses Sound Tower to make it..

The editor software would never even open on my computer, so I never could try it. But it isn't part of the machine.

Never a problem I can recall w/ my Signature Series (bought new in January 2003). Still haven't got around to sending it in for ANY of the upgrades yet... <really need to get the retune/recalibrate upgrade for the better performance mods...>, but it still sounds KILLER <esp w/ the BBE Sonic Stomp in the oscillator loop>

My Voyager Old School's Osc 2 did not work, brand new out of the box.I have really only had a chance to use it a couple days. I just got it back from Moog Music yesterday. I am curious why the main outs and headphones audio are reversed (you can hear it by adjusting the filter spacing knob.)
