Voyager: real "V"CO or DCO

Post by Mach4 » Sat Sep 06, 2003 8:37 am

Are the oscillators of the voyager real "V"CO or are the DCO? because if they are real VoltageOsc, how can they been modified with an update of the operating system?

Real VCOs.

The Voyager is not a hardwired system, a lot of the routing and control is controlled by software. So yes, OS updates can modify the VCOs.

Alesis Andromeda also has real VCOs and they have had OS updates that have changed the VCOs and VCFs in the system.

Someone had done a nice explanation on this topic in another thread unfortunetly I canot find the thread now but they were saying its similar to how the memory moog worked in the relationship to vco's and software.
