Adapter to use iphone with LP

I have an Iphone 4 and a little phatty stage 2 and I wanted to know how exactly you connect them together. Is there a special midi cable you have to use or an adapter of some kind? This may be a silly question but I didn't really think it through before I got the app and now I just want to be able to control it. Also what is the best way to get your audio out? Are most people just running straight out of the 1/8" headphone jack to a stereo cable?

Connect them together to do what exactly?

Do you want to drive Animoog or another software synth (Sunrizer, NLog, etc) on the phone with your LP's keyboard? If so, I guess that a Line6 Mobilizer II kit or iRigMIDI (
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/irigmidi/features/) for the phone might do the trick - that and a DIN MIDI cable. MIDI Out on the LP to MIDI In on the Line6/phone. Easy! With the other synths, you will then also be able to drive the LP from the phone - arps, everything.

Or if you want to connect it to the record the LP or use the iphone as an effects processor then there are several options.
1)iRig
2)peavey Ampkit
3)Apogee Jam
4)Alesis I/O dock
5) griffin guitar connect cable etc etc.
A little more complicated but effective way is to use the camera connection kit and plug in a audio interface into that- I think cakewalk makes some cheap ones that don't require any power/drivers and work quite efficiently.
I also use the an M-Audio Fast Track Pro using a powered USB hub and the CCK to connect my SP's audio into Filtatron to use the Delay etc.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has tried using other apps to process their Moog's audio.

Just a note - the Alesis ioDock is for the iPad 1 & 2 only, not the phone.

Thanks for the input. I was just asking because the promo for the app said that you could use the animoog to make your LP polyphonic and after I bought it, it became quickly apparent that this wasn't as simple as the product promos made it appear. I don't really need the LP to have poly. It just interested me.
