Little Phatty Stage 2 problems...

Hi guys,
I've recently brought a Little Phatty second hand, hadnt had much time to play with it but seems might have a few problems :(
Its a recent black edition, only about 4 months old. Anyway, a few of the issues I've spotted:
1) When messing about with presets, the preset light goes red (or is already red actually!), and when you press the preset button to go back to the original it just stays red and reads panal active, it breifly flashes orange as do the lights on the various pots, but it stays on the modded preset.
2) When moving a pot around if you go to an inbetween kind of setting I believe you should get two of the orange lights around the outside of it light at the same time, whereas on mine the two lights kind of flicker in a strange way...?
3) When flicking through presets and landing on one, sometimes the lights outside the pots take a while to settle and creep around the outside slowly until settling, strange?

Anyway, it doesnt seem right. It sounds ok I think, and its practically in brand new condition, not a mark on it so I cant believe it would be faulty already...? Is it worth doing a firmware re-install or something along those lines? I've done a factory reset and master reboot, didnt seem to do anything to help. Or maybe this is all perfectly normal and im being wierd! Boot is v1.1 and Rev: 3.1S, 671.
Any help greatly appriciated!
Andy

Upon further searching I've found this is a grounding problem so I'll try plugging my audio interface into the same extension lead as the phatty and see what happens!

Hi,

I had similar problems, due to a ground loop.
Try to unplug every connections of your LP (particularilly the USB, if connected). Just let a headphone (to listen). Does it fix the problems ?

It does indeed fix it, thanks. Will plug the audio interface into the same extension lead as the phatty when I get home and see if that fixes it, bit of a pain but will be worth it for the phatness!

Ok, i tried plugging the phatty into the same extension lead as the audio interface, still get the same result though. There's nothing else plugged into the extension lead apart from the phatty and the audio interface. Any other ideas to get around this problem...?

Is the outlet grounded?

Even with a well grounded outlet, I had this issue with an effect pedal once. It only had a two prong plug. An ungrounded device in the phatty's audio audio chain, seems to ground itself through the phatty. It causes the dancing dial syndrome.

Is the audio interface grounded to it's metal chassis? Often there is a screw on the inside of the chassis attaching a grounding wire. Run a wire from there to an actual ground.

You could also try using a ground lifting plug on the Phatty, but I'd contact moog support first to make sure it would not cause any problems with the phatty. They sell it with a grounded plug for a reason.
