HOW DO I SET UP my Little Phatty Stage II?

Hello everyone!
I just bought a new Little Phatty, and i cant get it to send/receive MIDI via its USB port! =[ I checked all the MIDI settings in the master menu and nothing. Ableton Live 8.2 doesn't see it. Do i have to use regular good ol' MIDI cables for it to work? I'm really hopping i don't have to, because i'd love to use its USB connectivity! =]
I have a MacPro Desktop 2.8 GHz with Mac OS X Version 10.6.8
Please someone help me?!!
