Hey whats up everybody, just want to say hello. Im a new poster and just wanted to introduce myself. I am 22 yrs old and in love with the moog moogerfooger line of pedals. I am lucky enough to own a moog mf 104z with the modified feature. Unfortunately for me I had hurt my shoulder and needed surgery so I have yet to play it yet with the spillover mod. I also just picked up a MF-105m by accident actually lol.

My question for you guys is the MF 105m really a guitar players pedal or more of a pedal for the keyboards and midi pad users. I was gonna get the MF-103 but there was a little miscommunication and now I have the 105m. Anyone have any suggestions on some tips for a guitar player to really get some cool sounds out of this. I am potentially listing this for sale to and using the money towards the 103. Im very undecided on what to do. Just looks very hard to get a real good understanding with all the knobs and diff levels and frequencies. Im sure down the road I will have plenty of moog pedals but was just curious to what you guys thought. Thanks for your input. Feel free to ask any questions and rock on!

I have the original murf (mf-105) and I love it for guitar. I guess it really depends on what style of music you play. I love the reverse envelope settings, makes it sound like the pedal is coming to life and struggling to take its first breathes, and if you back off the mix a little it gives a wonderful swirly background texture to what ever youre playing. I like it before my ring mod you can create some interesting "talking filter" sounds that way. Spend an evening with it, tweak every knob and slider and I'm sure you will change your mind on selling it. The murf does have kind of a learning curve but it is so worth it when you get passed it.

The 103 is amazing as well.

If you bought it new and it was a miscommunication (much to the advantage of the seller, mind you) you should just be able to exchange it with a little refund.

Novamusik.com : 103: $250 new.

The Fooger line can handle any line level signal. The line seems to be marketed to guitar players due to it's stompbox construction, but any signal can be adequately processed through it.

You can use it like a phaser effect...it is a very rich effect. I liked to not have the mix and envelope controls all the way open, I preferred to let it shimmer in the background......but I would suggest though, running it in a chain AFTER the delay, because if processed properly, each delay will swirl and appear on the left and right sides, essentially turning the mono signal from the delay to a stereo one.

I used the 105m with Bass guitar and with the Voyager, and I loved it, but mine had an issue that prompted me to return it, and I paid 80 or 90 bucks more and received the 101 and 103.
