After going through every single object in both the edit and utilities menu,changing each one at a time I found the single parameter that allows the EWI to midi in mp-201 out to slim phatty and be heard through my amp!That's right the EWI4000s controls the slim phatty via the mp-201.
Utilities....midi out ...turn that OFF.voila! works globally.I'm going to assume it make the midi out a through.That means I control volume,modulation and pitchbend wheels,program changes from EWI .It only took 3months to find that one thing.
