Virtual Little Phatty Expander ?

Love the video of the 4 Slim Phatty in sync with the Little Phatty for POLY Chain!

What I'd like to see is a multi-voice soft expander that would sync with the Little Phatty!

Standalone and AudioUnit.

Why? A virtual will never sound as good, so you can use other moog clones. And playing live you'll never be able to choose which voice is the real thing. Unless it's always the top voice for example, some programs might be able to do this, but I don't really see the point.

I wouldn't see the point to this either. Just download Reason 5 and send MIDI out with the Little Phatty. Use rewire with whatever DAW you have (Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Record, etc...) and take the audio out of your Moog into your interface. Wala, you now can have one analog voice with some fairly decent virtual synths and/or samplers. There is no reason for Moog to make a virtual synth when they are doing what they do best.

Though I must say if they did make one, I would try it... I mean, technically there wasn't any reason for them to make the filtatron app. For now, there are plenty of other virtual synths out there. Personally, Reason with rewire is my fav.

Hey guys,

Here are the advantages: the pluggin would have the same parameters as the Little Phatty, thus having SEAMLESS INTEGRATION being coded by Moog, you could have unlimited poly, you could program the additional voices with the knobs on the Little Phatty instead of a mouse, and it would be cost and space effective solution over having to purchase 4 Slim Phattys for Poly.

i'm also not seeing the point. I bought my Phatty knowing its limited capabilities but recognizing the sound is different to any softsynth. I wouldn't give a f**k about that I wouldn't have an analogue Synth.

Frank, you would still have all the limited capabilities that made you buy an analog synth. :?

Nerve, you got me wrong. Maybe my bad English caused confusion.
To me the point is: I bought a Slim Phatty because it's an analogue Synth fitting my budget. That's my reason for not buying an analogue Polysynth. It's not that I badly wanna have a Machine with limited capabilities, but only wanting to have analogue sound - True VCOs and VCFs inside. That's what makes a virtual expander you wrote about needless to me. There's a lot of Softsynths with many capabilities out there which make you able to create polyphone sounds, complex as hell and controllable by every parameter a Phatty gives you plus more at even small amounts of cost.

So I might say: If you don't recognize the differences of an analogue synth compared to DSP-driven or software you might as well have saved the bucks you spent on your Little Phatty to get another, cheaper synth plus a MIDI-keyboard and maybe make some holidays. :)

I just love the moog hardware and software and would like to see them unified...I would also like to take them on holiday with me...

Hi gabrielstigmatic,

Maybe you could explain this a bit further. I use Pro Tools 8 and Reason, and was looking to get a Little Phatty Stage II. But to my dissapointment the Little Phatty Editor http://www.moogmusic.com/littlephatty/? ... t_id=21347 does not support Pro Tools.

So maybe I don't need the Little Phatty Editor afterall?!

Thanks!
