Alright, I dont know what im missing there but i seem to be unable to do midi sync with sonar 7. I read a quick tutorial on the net telling me how to do it and it seems that I do everything right. Is there anybody having a good experience with sonar? And yes i already put the LFO sync to external on the phatty. I would also like to know if I can do the same thing with the arp.

Arp settings are per patch. Under the Advance preset menu, go to arp and press enter. In the arp menu there is a setting for sync. Set that to midi. The LFO is global. I think there maybe plans in a future OS to include global arp settings. I hope so.

Alright, but why isn't the lfo clocking to midi when midi clock is set to external on the little phatty and on MIDI clock on sonar?

In Cubase you can filter send and recieve of different types of midi messages. You must also set the "send midi clock start"-message (can't remember the correct term).
Maybe it's the same thing in Sonar, and you have to adjust the settings?

Ok, I wasn't home when I read your reply and I haven't touched my LP for a couple of days but I tried again and here is what I have. By the way, thank you for your help. I really need it because I started working with a DAW for the first time during the last week and I bought my LP a few months ago so im kinda noob. Sorry for my english im french and im probably making lots of mistakes.

In the sync menu in sonar you have a tick option on send MIDI start/stop/continue/clock and it is ticked. I also disabled the option to send MMC and MTC messages since it is not what I want, right? The source in sonar is set to internal since I want to adjust my tempo in the software and the phatty to follow it. The option "send midi clock" is also enabled on sonar and is set to "midi clock" on the phatty under the menu LFO SYNC.

What's wrong for god sake?

Never mind it works :P

The reason was simple, it seems that it only sync when you make the audio record or play in sonar. That's kind of embarassing though, is there some kind of way to make it sync at all time?

thanks a lot!
