Voyager Fatar keyboard problem

Hi,

I have a new Performer with a Fatar keyboard, for about 6 month now.
(I have the 10 screws on the bottom, so the forum says, it should be a new Fatar keyboard)
After some months with less use (standing in the studio), the keyboard has following phenomenon.

The lower octave key pressure is much less then the pressure on the last keys on the right end.
I mean - mechanical pressure.
I can measure with the tension meter 70g (gramms) on the lower octave, up to 120g -130g the keys on the right side - for a full pressure down of the depending key.
When I recognized, first I thought my little finger has a problem - but its the keyboard.

Has anybody an idea what I can do?
The Fatar keys should have a higher quality than the Chinese ones, but the keyboard which is built in, in my voyager is a scrappy piece of........

The other is.....on the control pushbutton band,
the buttons in the middle are much deeper (not higher as the surface of the frontpanel) then the buttons on the right or left side. The inner LED is deeper as well.
I have observed this at several voyagers.
The cause seem to be a bend mounted PCB, on which the buttons are fixed.
So I can only guess that is caused due to a sloppy work by the moog staff ( design, assembly, or mounting).
I am not zesty about, but I can accept such little weakness.

But the keyboard - as the artists most important interface, should work nearly perfect (now and for the next 35 years, too ;-)

And the reason you didn't call service first was...???

Moog is great on the phone, and a lot more resposive than to the forum.

Mr. just me...

you are a jester,

do YOU know ANYBODY who is in on work at these days,
from Xmas to new years eve...... :o
especially the service crews all on holidays.
I called my dealer - I should come in, not before next week.
Maybe in the US it is different from Europe.

Must be, as I have chatted with Rosser in service this week on an issue with other Moog gear. (I work in the service field and have worked all week myself.)
But we aren't going to be able to fix your keybed on this forum. Moog can help you if you call them. (But I'll guess they aren't there today 12-31-10. A phone call would find the answer, or answering machine.)

Moog Music and Fatar are usually better then this.
I own 7 synths with Fatar keyboard actions. And none of these have these problems.
And I have no quality problems with my Voyager or my three Moogerfoogers.

So you should contact Moog Music for help to get this fixed or exchanged.
The Moog Voyager is assembled by hand, not by robots. So there might be some faulty units. Where ever humans are involved, there are mistakes.

Errare humanum est (about 2050 year old latin phrase).

A peaceful and healthy 2011 !

Rudi,
you should not be working this weekend anymore.
Take a break and eat some Lebkuchen.
The brown ones are even better than the very dark ones, although both are EXTREMELY tasty.
Happy new year, Rudi - and everyone here at the forum !!!
