Not possible..at least for the price. I respect this of course, but don't expect it...

I think I would like to see stage 3 as a rack/table top version with the already mentioned sequencer. But not like the micron sequencer more like electribe/x0x style so its a little more performance based. And if said sequencer is possible id like to see clock tempo as a mod destination so pseudo tape manipulation effects can be created (lfo to clock time, mod wheel to clock time etc). It would be great if you could choose to have this effect other device (drum machines sequencers) via midi out or to just have it play catch up so that it resyncs to the tempo.

Maybe even do away with pitch/mod wheels and just have a small touch screen with selectable x and y....that's probably not likely but I think it would be fun to have clock tempo on one axis and pitch on the other

Something that's always tweaked me about the LP is that its octave settings allow it to get plenty low, but I always feel like I'd enjoy being to play another octave or so down sometimes.

If possible to employ, it'd be cool if they could make the LP kb octave button go down one more octave, the LED could stay the same color at the lowest setting, but the kb would play another octave down.
I really like the way CTRLSHFT thinks!

Perhaps I could suggest that, if it is possible to go one more octave up and one more octave down, then how about using the following to indicate these new octaves:

Left LED Red & Right LED Yellow together mean it's the new lowest octave.

Left LED Yellow & Right LED Red together mean it's the new highest octave.

And any front panel method of locking your VCA at the Amp Sustain level would be very cool for the trippier synthesists.

Recently I was on a quest for portability. Something I could tote around with me, sit anywhere and sequence without a bunch of added gear. Just an all in one box. I ended up choosing an MFB Synth II. However, having owned and enjoyed a little phatty if there were a little phatty box w/sequencer I would have been all over that as I know Moogs are fairly robust, have great support, etc. So, my bid is for an alternate, keyboardless LP with a built in sequencer (and it doesn’t have to be an acid box, I would welcome a vintage style sequencer). They could even take it to the next level with DSI styleinternal modular sequencer routing. Something like one of these done Moog style:

We can dream, but I don't think something like that would be even remotely portable unless they really cut down alot of the features. It's more likely that they could make something akin to the Doepfer Dark Energy w/ a seq.

All this said, I'd definitely like a rackmount phatty!

There isn't really the much inside of the LP. I think they could do a fairly "portable" unit. I realize it would still most likely be metal so it wouldn't be as light as a MFB but just picture the LP in a flat box enclosure (as opposed to slanted up) with a sequencer where the keys would be. And really if they wanted to make it even more portable they adjust the layout so the knobs and button are a bit closer together, etc. If I had any photoshop skills I would show you what I mean.

Case in point, the MFB has more analog features (the stuff that really takes up space. It's features mimic the classic minimoog) and the whole thing could fit inside the LP... So it could easily be done. I doubt they will do it though as I think they view themselves as a "heritage" instrument creator and the whole x0x and current sequencer trends aren't their thing. Of course I hope this isn't true, I just suspect that's the case.

Not sure if this is mentioned before (I suppose it has) but I would be happy with voice expanders in 1U rack format instead of a new version of the Little Phatty. I own 2 LPs but there's no way I would buy 6 more to have 8 voice polyphony. I probably would buy 6 voice expanders.

That would be awesome...and the voice expander in a 1U rack format would be minimal cost, as well...I'm thinking 600 USD per voice. Amazing idea! :D

if they had rack versions of the LP available around 600$ range, I'd totally grab another one for the extra voice.

Absolutely agree. If Moog could produce a $595 LP RME, they'd sell a bunch. I have no idea how big the board is or how difficult it would be to squeeze those knobs into a package (or where to compromise) but pulling the wheels, kbd, etc. and giving up a bit on margin could certainly get them into the game and they could perhaps only sell direct.

Plenty of people buy these Dave Smith units, Moog should get a piece of the action also.

+1 i'd be all over that, even at like 700 i'd probably do it, esp if they offer a free editor, which honestly I think would make the most sense for them to do in order to justify it.
