If the arpeggiator is running with both Arp Latch and Note Latch turned on, then the arpeggiator will play a looping sequence of all the notes you enter into it, in order, including duplicate notes. The sequence can be up to 128 notes long. Maybe "step sequencer" is too loaded of a term to use for this function... but if it had the ability to program rests or ties, then perhaps the term would be a better fit.
Oh, OK. I understood the term in a more convential manner. I was thinking you'd be able to store a sequence of notes (perhaps even edited from a Taurus 3 editor which I'm sure is on the cards

) and apply them to any patch. I think of the current feature as extended arpeggiator mode.
Last time I tried this mode it didn't work in quite the way I thought it would - perhaps the update addresses this (I won't be able to try for a few days). What I think would be a nice feature would when both latches are on that you can add notes from other octaves, but what I seem to remember happening was that if you hit the Octave pedal the whole sequence just shot up (or down) an octave, whereas I think it would be nice if whatever notes you've played stayed in the octave you played them regardless of the Octave pedal's selection, thereby allowing you to play sequences of a couple of octaves.

OK had a quick play. The arp works how I described when hitting the Octave button - I think it would be more useful to be able to add notes an octave up without the whole arp pattern being transposed - perhaps a toggle feature in some future update?
Anyway - there seems to be one issue which I would like confirmed. When I select any preset, even the basic Taurus 1, if I play without any MIDI it sounds as normal. However, when I hit my sequencer it's obviously now sending clock which appears to be triggering the LFO, so now my Taurus 1 sound has a pulse. Is this right? I don't seem to remember it working like that before.

yesterday installed the update.
installation without problem ( after i fixed the midicables properly.. )
how great the resonance can now be controlled also by velocity, great, thank you very much amos !
only once a freeze, when changing the velocity to filter while the appergiator ran at the same time. however it only happened once , i couldn't repeat it.
here some small points
( afcourse) the upgrade sets all velocity to.. on 0 as default, so old patches have to be adapted and then saved again.
strange is that vel to filter and resonance can work positive and negative ( -64-0, 0 to +64 ), but vel to volume only seems to work positive?? 0-127. i have to look to that one again tonight , might just be a wrong numbering, i hope , as neg value also for volume is important. just imagine the filter opening on higher velocity, one would like to keep the overall level the same by .... exactly giving a bit of negative on the vel to volume.
in " transpose blink fast mode" it appears the appergiator run on/off can only be reached by the panelbuttons and mod wheel. this means that simply switching from normal pedalmode to appergiatormode and back requires a lot of handling ( first go to appergiator run/then switch it on/of with the wheel and visa versa) . it can be paused, i know by thepedalboardoctave button, but restarts on every pedalpress again, so that's not what is needed. maybe this or next time , it's possible to either: make the appergiatorrun on/off depended on pressing the appergiatortapknob for 2 or more seconds ( most comfortable ), or let it be done by simply pressing the appergiator run on/off knob of the panel once more ( first select, second push on/off, thereby no need to use 2 feet to switch something that useful on/off). another solution could be assigning the glide/lfotabknob to appergiator on/off instead
also the possiblity to change the tempo of the appergiator simply with the modwheel, is still not very clear to me , so i'm convicted to tapping the tempo all the time instead...
after upgrade the midi-in transpose function has a default value of -64 instead of "off" ( midi out is oke/off)
i wonder/forgot, if appergiatortempo is set to "internal" as default, it does react normally to tapping though, have to look to that one again tonight also. ( i think it stands on "clock" as default, which might explain a bit one of the problems a previous forummember described just before?) )
overall already a big improvement, it almost becomes a real instrument
thank you !
1.7 bug - octave triggered on release

is anyone else experiencing this?
i've updated to 1.27, and now intermittently releasing a note causes the note an octave higher to be triggered. this occurs (inconsistently) both in lower and upper octave modes.
is this a bug, or a new feature which i'm not using correctly?

Not here.
This sounds like a note-on got stuck in the MIDI note buffer.
Switch off, unplug all MIDI cables, switch on an try again.
Better?

switching off does help (i can't remember if it helped every time), so does factory reset, but the issue has returned after both of these fixes.
additionally, i got a proper stuck note yesterday - something i thought i'd seen the last of. hmmm.
working fine now, but i'll update either that the issue has or hasn't disappeared...

i'll leave the cable out and report on T3 behaviour...

yes, because reasonable chance it might be some strange computer-midi-or loop problem instead of a t3 problem

This was my mistake... Volume vel sens is now -64...+64 just like the others. I can definitely see the utility of this.

I did this, it was a very simple change. I think it works just like you say; if arp is running and Taurus is in PGM mode (transpose blink fast = PGM mode), press/hold the DECAY footswitch for 2sec = Arp turns off. Press DECAY switch again = arp starts at same tempo as before... tap DECAY footswitch multiple times = tap-tempo for Arp internal clock. There is some possibility for user error and confusion here (tap-tempo mode has a 3-second time-out, any taps within timout time are considered as tap-tempo)... but I think the implementation is correct.
sunny pedaal wrote:also the possiblity to change the tempo of the appergiator simply with the modwheel, is still not very clear to me
You mean, press both ARP ON/OFF and LATCH buttons at same time (while SELECT LEVEL = Amber LED) to adjust arp rate from the foot wheel? That's how to do it...
sunny pedaal wrote:after upgrade the midi-in transpose function has a default value of -64 instead of "off" ( midi out is oke/off)
I checked this, it looks like it should be the correct value (Off) by default. I will make sure that all global values are restored to default in the v2.0 firmware update. As long as all global values are correct after a Factory Restore, there's no real problem... if Factory Restore sets a wrong value, that's a problem.
OK, so, here's a new version... V2.0 RC 2 (also known as v1.28)...
http://seamslikereality.com/moog/Taurus ... 12_WIN.zip (windows)
http://seamslikereality.com/moog/Taurus ... 12_MAC.zip (mac)
If no problems, this will be the v2 release later this week. Let me know, if you have a chance to try it. Cheers!
