Kenneth,
Are you going to get the Legato mod for the OS?

I don't have imminent plans to, but I will in the future. I actually just got back from spending all of June and part of July in Iceland, which was the best thing I have ever done.

I'm really loving mine, by the way. I went with the kp500 paired with the sw15 sub. Absolutely beautiful clear sound. Thanks for turning me on to Motion Sound. Your's was the determining opinion in my decision to go with the MS amp.

Cheers!
Glad to hear it! They really do sound clear, and though a lot of people are more interested in running their synths through tube guitar amps, that just never did it for me. I just want to hear my synthesizers. MS amps definitely don't get in the way of that.

If I may make a little suggestion ? Always make your bed before taking pics...

Legato mod? I'm not sure I am familiar. What is it that you're talking about?

It's a switch that Moog installs on the LHC to switch between Legato and Staccato (retrigger toggle). The option already exists on your Old School but you have to hold a key upon power-up to switch modes.

I had my Old School pimped out a few years ago and had this option installed. I wouldn't send it to the shop just for that but if you are getting the wheel flashing mod, getting the 1V/Oct. fix or a retune, it's not a bad idea.

It's now been almost a couple months but at Sweetwater Gearfest I got a white slim, wood sides, and wood for my Minitaur. Also I won one of the prize packs which was awesome.

Found an old Aries AR-334 Sequencer. Had only seen these in ads from the 70's and a few photos. Nice to have the original Aries sequencer. Kind of like using an ARP 2500 driven with the 1027 sequencer, or a Moog modular with the 960 sequencer. I just seems right to drive an Aries with the AR-334 sequencer.

I just happen to have an old Aries I am working on finishing up at the moment. The AR-334 Sequencer now sits in the top left.

The Aries sounds surprisingly good! And I mean it sounds really good! The AR-329 phase/flange is one of those unique sounding modules.
Most of the original modules were designed by Dennis Colin, who also designed the ARP 2500's 1047 State Variable Multimodal VCF, and parts of the ARP 2600. So the Aries has a bit of an ARP connection.
This Aries has two of those Dennis Colin designed AR-327 mulit mode filters, along with three oscillators and most of the original 1977-78 module line up. I did add a bottom row of Frack modules to complement the Aries.

Those PS-3100 synthesizers are fun to patch. The oscillator input covers the full range so a Moog Ribbon or Percussion controller can really expand the possibilities. There is a mode where you can sustain any notes/chords so it could be used as a 12tone plus sub octaves VCO.
Most of the demos I have seen on U-tube never really scratch the surface of what can be done with all that CV control.
Good luck with that PS!

Aries and PS?

I'm just learning all the in's and out's at the moment. In this track (well, excerpt), the Korg is doing the pads, bleeps and bells. (It's got a really nice ring modulator.

The sequence is handled by a Macbeth Micromac and a single modular voice (Mos-Lab Kobol VCO -> Moon Modular VCF -> Krisp1 EG/VCA. Sequenced with the Cirklon.

Wow, cool Aries sequencer find and gorgeous system . . with complimentary FRAC on bottom row! :!: :!: :!: Back in the mid to late 70's when I was building PAiA modules I would gaze at my Aries brochure often and lust for its glory but alas, it seemed ridiculously expensive to me at the time!
