Hi Bill.bensen
in your sub 37 the problem was present from the beginning!!
This means a bad testing in the factory!!
I'm increasingly perplexed!
Moreover, why does not the problem occur on the sub phatty? The filter should be the same!

Mine was a floor model at Bedrock LA, so it might have had the filter knob twisted a few times. Although the born on date was last month, so it couldn't have had many turns. I have no idea what the QC is at the factory or why it isn't present in the Sub Phatty.
I do know that Andy and Moog took care of me!

Just finished unboxing and replaced the Sub Phatty. The Little Phatty has 4 SLim Phatty 's (not shown) attached for poly play.
SN SBT 05584, John Walton, Mendon, Massachusetts, USA. Bought new from Sweetwater.

Thanks Greg! I'm loving this Sub37! Its sound, and playability is completely different from the LP and the Voyager. The buried controls of the Subphatty just wasn't doing it for me. I didn't feel like I was in control of the thing. But now, I haven't been this excited about a new synth purchase for a long time

The whole Duophonic thing has set me off in directions that a full poly instrument never has, and I just got it today! LOL!

Yeah this is the oft misunderstood side of the Sub 37 when people only compare the basics between the 3 modern moogs (that the sound may lack a little bottom end or doesn't sound like the 'classic moog') the point of the 37 is it gets you in that area but then you go far beyond it, with an amazing control panel and possibilities in a much cheaper synth.
So are you one of those that feels the basic sound quality of the Sub 37 lacks vs your Little Phatty (I won't ask against the Voyager as I'd expect that to sound fuller with 3 true oscs and price tag to match!) - I never felt tempted into a LP even 2nd hand (sounds great though) and obviously for me a Voyager was out of my league I guess (for a mono I really don't need overkill in the mono area) the Sub 37 was just 'right' for me.
Anyway what a great moog setup you have there.

@subber37, absolutely not! I approach the Sub37 and the LP differently, and get different types of sounds and grooves going. I don't think either synth is inferior in sound quality to the other. Even the diminutive Subphatty has a sonic footprint that blew me away when I first turned it on. However, I find it tough to menu dive synths, and the SP's indirect option setting method distanced me from it. The 80's synth were hell machines. For instance, I have an old Oberheim Matrix 6 keyboard and rack mount, and the keypad + LED programming interface is so sucky.

Yeah.. the interface on the Sub 37 is gorgeous and very inspiring to use. I'm not a menu diver myself (but have done it even on AFM machines like SY77 etc.. had many 80s digitals too D-50s, DX7s etc - I actually like digging in on those as annoying as it can be but on an analog especially I like to just feel my way around a sound and the Sub 37 does that better than many esp considering its deep possibilities vs the LP and others!).
I like the '37 because I actually wasn't specifically seeking a 'deep moog sound' in the traditional sense (but hey it can still get close in a mix if you want) what I like is its scope and ease of musicality (syncing things up effortlessly for example). Anyway sorry I guess this is OFF TOPIC so please ignore this and thanks for the reply.

SN: SBT 02516
Purchase date: 27-11-2014
Build Date: 11/2014
Location: Amsterdam Netherlands
Purchased at: Midi Amsterdam
History: Keyboard has 2 badly functioning keys, velocity response is slower than others.
This still needs to be fixed, however Midi Amsterdam is not really doing anything about it..
They promised to get a keyboard swap, but it never happened....
I'm however very happy with the unit and use it almost every other day. So swapping
keyboards is not urgent.. but I need to get it fixed before warranty is over.
